What Our Partners Are Saying…

“Gateshead College has worked with PROTOGÉ in relation to T-Level placements. Together we were able to plan in collaboration and in advance of the placement to ensure that the students receive a great experience. The team are professional and enthusiastic. Solution-focused and proactive in their response to supporting the talent of the future.

Getting meaningful high end placements can sometime be a challenge in the digital sector. The team at PROTOGÉ helped us overcome that challenge. A safe inclusive environment with professionals who are as talented at tech as they are at nurturing and imparting skills to our learners.

We are very happy with the level of support our students get whilst on placement and the level of communication we receive. The planning stages of the placement was also an exceptional service.

The impact on the students is clear. Real high quality placements with real industry experience.”

— Deni Chambers, Assistant Principal @ Gateshead College

“PROTOGÉ are an outstandingly influential changemaker in the tech industry, for both students and teaching staff. Their use of technology and their work in a digital capacity is inspirational for our students. Their flexible approach to educating the next generation workforce is admirable and offers a great insight into the work of digital careers.”

— Bobby McAdam, Careers IAG Coordinator @ St Thomas More Catholic School

“We commenced discussions with PROTOGÉ early on in our planning process for the delivery of T levels, what was excellent was their willingness to work with Middlesbrough College to share their ideas and expertise, this willingness and early discussion helped to ensure we in the right place at the right time to work together.

The team at PROTOGÉ devoted time to working with us speaking to staff and students at Middlesbrough College about the company and sharing with them their ideas and examples of how they had worked in the past and were currently working.

Key to much of the success was the time devoted to speaking to students about the opportunity to undertake a placement with PROTOGÉ, Dan and Becki came in to the college to meet with students one to one and then when selecting the final students, they took the time to again meet with the student on a one to one basis to ensure everything was right for both parties.

This journey has ensured that students at Middlesbrough College have been able to listen to and talk to industry experts allowing them to make an informed decision in terms of the right placement opportunity for them. It is a massive benefit to our students who know they will get access and support from experts in their field.”

— Kevin Jeffrey, Work Experience & Industry Placement Team Leader @ Middlesbrough College

Our T-Level innovation commitment

We believe the UK government’s new T-Levels qualification is a step in the right direction for 21st century careers education. As such we’ve been committed to aiding education providers with placements through the T-Level pilot scheme. We also offer information and advice to those in our industry who may not have heard of the innovative T-Level scheme or may be wondering if taking placement students is a good fit for them.

T-Levels require students to complete a total of 315 hours (approx 45 days) on-the-job experience industrial placement. We have been making placements available for Digital Production, Design and Development T-Level students, who are on a course that fits the needs of creative digital companies in our industries. Having a significant industrial placement element as a necessary part of each qualification means that students gain multiple benefits. It’s an opportunity for the student to further their professional development while learning workplace specific skills and competencies through practice and on-the-job training. Furthermore, it’s an excellent opportunity for the host company to develop and acquire the freshest next generation talent.

It is important to us that the UK makes available innovative alternative paths to careers in the games, immersive and realtime 3D industries. These industries are moving at breakneck speed and the skills they require should not - and we’d argue, cannot - be taught only in classrooms. With a widening skills gap to bridge PROTOGÉ will continue to support the development of a next-gen talent pipeline through T-Levels over the next decade.

If you are in the games, immersive or realtime 3D industries and are looking for advice on how T-Levels may work for you while giving you the chance to supporting the development of next-gen talent - then contact us.
